I just passed 2,000 followers on my Twitch channel! The goal I set for myself was hitting 2k before I took a shot at applying for partnership. I have no expectations one way or the other but this is something I really want and the worst thing they can do is say no. So I’m happy! I reached a goal I set for myself much faster than I anticipated (I assumed it would take another month before I hit 2k, but I managed to increase my followers by over 560 within two weeks. The other 1.5-ish-k happened throughout my time socializing in other Twitch rooms, hosting my weekly Q&A, and the few game streams I’ve aired in the last year and a half. I think a 25% increase in two weeks is pretty good!
Regardless of the outcome of my application I can come away from the experience proud of myself for exceeding my own expectations. I’m very thankful toward every person that has helped me reach this particular goal. Even the angry people who threatened to unfollow if I didn’t immediately remove my shirt. Thanks for inexplicably continuing to follow even after being rapidly banned.
The game that’s continued to net the most new follows, and introduce the most new people to my content, is still World of Warcraft. I’ve been leveling my hunter and she’s just begun questing in Cataclysm content. A few green quest items later and normal mobs aren’t hitting me like a semi-truck but I’m not quite at an iLevel where the random dungeon finder thinks I’ll be a useful party member.
Loading back up Hyjal tomorrow and slapping quest givers until decent greens fall out to replace my Burning Crusade epics. If you haven’t noticed the new schedule I’m live five days a week, Monday – Friday from 12pm PST – 2pm PST. General gameplay/betas/etc happen Monday – Thursday and F2P Friday continues to be free to play and on Fridays.
